Campbell Pond -Sumter, South Carolina by Sandra Clark
description:
A clear blue sky with cotton clouds. You can only see the clouds in the reflection of the water. The green trees line the edge of the water.
Campbell Pond is in Sumter County, South Carolina; It is near the town of Wedgefield, South Carolina, and in the Manchester State Forest. It is also located right outside of Poinsett State Park.
This is the area where my husband grew up, and we go back from time to time. It is also where we dated and met, so it holds a special place in my heart as well.
Cambell Pond, in my family, is famous for the story that he tells. It is the pond where a 13-year-old boy and his Mother chase a crocodile in a rubber raft—one of those special boyhood memories.
There is a bike trail around the pond and lots of fishing on the edges and a beautiful place to take a canoe ride. Just watch out for the crocodile!
The surrounding is so pretty on this particular day the light was just perfect, and the reflections filled the water for a peaceful scene.
