Description
A ride down the Black Water Swamp in North Carolina. This is a black water river. The river is black from the tannins of the Bald Cypress trees. The tannic acid makes the water the color of tea.
WE saw many sights all were so pretty but I especially enjoyed the mirror effect if the water on the marshland around us. The trees gave shade from above and gave designs to look at below. Riding outside in this spring season through the wetlands was so wonderful.

Awesome scenery Sandra! —Love the reflection and the title! My first swamp tour was in Louisiana—what an inspirational environment for artists to draw from; water, trees, sky, flowers, birds and animals. This image evokes a lot of fond memories for me, makes me want to revisit… Thanks! L/V&F
