Description
West Point on the Eno Park is a popular Durham city park covering 388 acres with three miles of hiking trails. There are many landmarks including a replica of the original West Point Mill. The original mill was built in 1778 and collapsed in 1973 due to neglect. Through photographs of the mill, West Point Mill was reconstructed using parts from local grist mills. The mill operates on weekends, offering a tour — you can even buy ground meal and flour. The Laurel Cliffs self-guided nature trail has sixteen numbered guideposts and brochures located at the trail head. Swimming and fishing are popular in the river.
